Focus

I'm just going to say here really quick that when your heart and your focus are in the right spot,
Everything turns out fine.

Joseph Smith, the founder of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints said:
"The fundamental principles of our religion are the testimony of the Apostles and Prophets, concerning Jesus Christ, that He died, was buried, and rose again the third day, and ascended into heaven; and all other things which pertain to our religion are only appendages to it."

Luke, in the New Testament says:
" 13 ¶No servant can serve two ^amasters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon."

prioritize.

Know what matters most.

You cannot serve two masters; you must decide what you will do and where you will go so that you can turn to Him and be saved.

Joshua 24:
 15 And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, ^achoose you^bthis day whom ye will ^cserve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my^dhouse, we will ^eserve the Lord.

Life Wares On.

When you boil it all down to the bones, my life over the past month and a half or so has all revolved around this new motto of mine that comes directly from the bible:

Proverbs 3:5-6

Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

In all thy ways, acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

Now this may all seem like some great and overbearingly preachy sermon to y'all readers, but it's not, I promise.

Seriously!

As long as you keep pushing and you're trying to be your very best, doing all that you can, God will help you to make it all work out in the end.

There is no Isolation

You will come to discover--and quite quickly I might add-- that I, the author, the powerful, pen-wielding blogger, I am a Christian.

Osmosis, as defined above, is very technical, but it is more than just a scientifically studied process or an assimilation.  Osmosis is the human inability to completely isolate and insulate any action.

Take, for example, a lie:Jim is at a social gathering and openly states, 'I have never liked peanut butter.'
Once the lie has been stated, he is held to that expectation.
The plot thickens:Jim's friend, George, made Jim a fresh batch of peanut butter bars, not knowing his supposed hatred for the stuff.
Jim, since he actually don't mind peanut butter and he happened to love this treat, devoured the cookies gratefully.
The plot takes a turn for the worse: Gossip spreads--George's sister-in-law, Andrea, tells George his obvious mistake.
and our poor Jim is left in a tough situation.

This example, though it may seem overly simplified or even meaningless, points to a higher truth: Our actions affect ourselves and our fellow men.

From a logical point of view, we cannot stop ourselves entirely from making mistakes, from being human.  We can, however, clear the slate.

The well known and beloved prophet Isaiah, of old, spoke of this saying:

Isaiah 1:18

 18 Come now, and let us ^areason together, saith the Lord: though your ^bsins be as scarlet, they shall be as ^cwhite as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.

It is possible.  Your mistakes and misfortunes can be erased away.

Revelation 3:20

 20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and ^aopen the 

door, I will ^bcome in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

Come unto Him.
